HKUST MBA Merit Scholarship
The Merit Scholarship is offered to top admitted candidates who demonstrate strength in work exposure, international exposure, academic performance (strong bachelor or postgraduate degree/GMAT score), references and interview performance. Admitted candidates are automatically considered for this scholarship and no additional application materials are required. We will notify admitted candidates their scholarship results when they get the admissions offer.
Those with the following profiles will have an advantage in getting the Merit Scholarship.
- Have extensive global experience
- Non-Asians with Asia exposure or language proficiency in Chinese or an Asian language
- Asians with international exposure
- From underrepresented or minority groups
- Have performed outstanding community service
Jebsen Scholarship (For Permanent residents of Mainland China & Hong Kong)
Donated by Jebsen & Co. Ltd., the Jebsen Scholarship is available to full-time MBA students who are permanent residents of mainland China or the HKSAR. Selection will be based on candidates’ academic background, work experience, and career interest. Candidates shortlisted for interviews are invited to apply.
E-fellows MBA Scholarship
Participants of e-fellows MBA Day or e-fellows alumni can apply for this exclusive scholarship in the HKUST MBA application. Successful applicants will be notified of the scholarship result together with the admissions offer. For further details, please visit here (in German only).

”La Caixa” & Casa Asia Scholarship Program to Study an MBA in Asia (For Spanish nationals)
The La Caixa Scholarship application for intake 2017 is closed. Application details for intake 2018 will be announced around January 2017.
The scholarship amount will cover:
- Full tuition fee
- Monthly endowment of HK$16,670 per month
- €1500 for travel expenses
- Insurance, visa and other related costs
- Spanish nationals
- Minimum 2 years of working experience
- Undergraduate degree acquired between January 2007 and June 2016
- Minimum TOEFL (a score of 110 in internet-based test) or IELTS (a score of 8)
- Minimum GMAT score of 700
The scholarship amount and application requirements for intake 2018 are subject to change. Candidates who plan to finance their MBA studies through this scholarship should apply for it one year before the planned enrolment year.
Talentia Fellowship Program for Spanish Professionals
Our program is listed under the Talentia Fellowship Program by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Science in Andalusia, Spain for EU citizens having a connection with Andalusia by birth, residence, work, university or blood.
It covers the full tuition fees, living allowance and air tickets, and also offers assistance in joining the Andalusia job market upon program completion.

Indonesian Education Scholarship
Indonesian Education Scholarship (BPI) for Master and Doctoral Programs is a scholarship program funded by the Indonesian government through the use of National Trust for Education Development (DPPN) and is managed by LPDP to finance higher education in master or doctoral program in higher education in Indonesian or overseas institutions.
This scholarship aims to support the supply of educated and qualified Indonesian human resources who also possess leadership quality and a strong vision as the future leader of Indonesia. Such commitment is carried out through the provision of scholarship funding for master or doctoral programs in top universities within and outside the country to those applicants who fulfill the qualifications established by LPDP. *Most scholarships are mutually exclusive. Students awarded more than one of them can only retain one scholarship and forfeit the rest.

International students may choose to obtain private study loan from financing institutions of their home country. The following finance company is cited for reference only. International students should research all available financing options on their own choice.

For U.S. citizens
The following two education loans are available for admitted MBA candidates from U.S. at a competitive rate.
Sallie Mae Education Loan
Sallie Mae offers the Smart Option Student Loan to eligible U.S. citizens pursing an MBA degree at our school. Students will be able to borrow up to 100% of total program costs. For more information, please visit www.salliemae.com.
Federal Student Aid for U.S. citizens
If you are a U.S. citizen, you may be eligible for the Direct Stafford Loans administered by the U.S. Department of Education. Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov for more details.
For Canadian citizens
The Bank of Montreal offers the Professional Student Line of Credit scheme for admitted MBA candidates from Canada. The loan is available at a competitive rate with a maximum credit limit of around CAD20,000. For more details, please visit the section under Student Professionals here.
For Hong Kong residents
If you are a Hong Kong resident, you may be eligible for a Non-Means Tested Loan provided by the Government Student Financial Assistance Agency. The maximum loan is capped at the tuition fee payable, and the loan repayment period can extend to ten years after program completion.
Our program is also listed as a reimbursable course by the Continuing Education Fund. This provides reimbursement of up to HK$10,000 for those who fulfill the criteria.
For Indian citizens
Credila, a non-bank finance company, offers an education loan to Indian citizens attending overseas universities. The loan is available at a competitive interest rate and can be up to 100% of educational expenses. Please visit Credila’s website here for more details.
For Singaporean citizens
The following two education loans are available for admitted MBA candidates from Singapore at a competitive rate.
Overseas Education Loan from Maybank
A maximum credit limit of up to eight times the monthly income of applicants. (Click here for more details)
A maximum credit limit of up to six times the individual or combined salary of the joint borrower(s), who need not be immediate family members, i.e. can be friends or distant relatives. (Click here for more details)
For U.K. citizens
If you are a UK resident and are intending to work in the UK, the EU or the EEA when the program finishes, you may be eligible to get a Professional and Career Development Loan (PCDL). It is a deferred repayment commercial bank loan program administered by The Skills Funding Agency, in partnership with participating banks. The loan amount ranges from £300 to £10,000. The Skills Funding agency will pay the interest on the loan to the bank on behalf of successful applicants while they are studying.
