To encourage Japanese citizens to study MBA programs in Hong Kong and to promote the internationalization of Hong Kong universities, the three MBA programs in Hong Kong, namely the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the University of Hong Kong, have jointly established the MBA Scholarships for Japanese to Study in Hong Kong.

The Scholarship has been set up with generous support from Japanese firms, Hong Kong firms, and other organizations and individuals based in Hong Kong. It will be awarded to successful applicants who commence their studies during the 2010/11 academic year.

Eligibility
Applicants must be permanent Japanese citizens who have been offered admission to the full-time MBA program of either The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, or The University of Hong Kong.

Scholarship Award
Each scholarship is worth HK$200,000 to be used to cover MBA tuition fee. There are 5 scholarships available for intake 2010. (Hong Kong $1.0 = Japanese Yen 11.47 as of December 8, 2009)

1. Application Form

2. Personal Statement
A statement highlighting the applicant's personal, academic and/or professional accomplishments (max 300 words).

3. Letter of Recommendation
References from an individual who is familiar with the applicants' professional and/or academic work and suitability to undertake an MBA. The format of the Letter of Recommendation is attached with the Application Form.

Application Submission: Please send by postal mail the completed application materials to the Secretariat Office MBA Scholarship for Japanese to Study in Hong Kong (please refer to the Enquiries section for the address). Candidates should submit their scholarship applications when applying to the MBA programs.

Application Deadline: March 31, 2010

Selection: The Selection Committee will consider (a) scholarship application materials; (b) application materials submitted to the MBA Program(s), and (c) the face-to-face interview (for short-listed candidates) in award decisions.

Result announcement: Successful applicants will be notified by May 2010.
