The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the last round of its Distinguished Speakers Series today – a talk series launched over a year ago to celebrate the University’s 25th anniversary. Prof Hiroshi Amano, a renowned physicist and engineer in semiconductor technology, marked the 9th Nobel laureate and the 27th who spoke for the series hosted by corporate leaders, entrepreneurs and key financial policy shapers around the world.

Microsoft’s Executive Vice President for Artificial Intelligence and Research Dr Harry Shum Speaks on Artificial Intelligence at HKUST 25th Anniversary Distinguished Speakers Series

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) hosted the 25th Anniversary Distinguished Speakers Series today, featuring Dr Harry Shum, Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence and Research Group. The event was well received by students, faculty members and guests from HKUST.

Speaking on “Realizing the Promise of Artificial Intelligence – moving from machine-centric to human-centric, from perception to cognition, and from rational to emotional”, Dr Shum shared Microsoft’s vision, efforts and tangible progress in accelerating artificial intelligence (AI).

HKUST Business School Named “School of the Year” by CEMS

The School of Business and Management at the HKUST Business School has earned the “CEMS School of the Year” title, becoming the first Asian school to receive this international honor.

The HKUST Business School, in its third year of offering the program, has been chosen the CEMS School of the Year, and its elective course “Global Macroeconomics” was also named as one of the three CEMS Courses of the Year.

The HKUST MBA Ranks First in Asia Pacific

The MBA Program of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business and Management (HKUST Business School) has been ranked 1st in Asia Pacific and 14th globally by the Financial Times. This is the seventh consecutive year that HKUST has been ranked in the Top 15 globally; during this period, no other MBA program in the Asian-Pacific region has been ranked in the top 15 in consecutive years. Additionally, this marks the sixth time in the last seven years that the HKUST MBA Program has been ranked as the best in Asia Pacific.
