Class of 2013
Pre-MBA: Project Manager, Service Delivery, Intralinks
Post-MBA: Senior Consultant, Deloitte Consulting

“Thanks to my MBA, I have been equipped with sufficient knowledge and exposure to different businesses to meet these challenges…”

“I used to work in a technical role and my exposure to business was pretty narrow. My MBA was like a crash course that helped me to grasp different business concepts and broaden my perspectives. What I didn’t expect was that it also inspired me to take on a new career path.

During the program, I was promoted internally to Program Manager. But the consulting courses by Prof. Chris Doran, who was a former McKinsey consultant, inspired me to consider a career in this industry which had previously been unfamiliar to me.

I joined Deloitte Consulting shortly after my graduation. The consulting field is stimulating and moves at a very fast work pace. Every project is a new challenge that teaches me something new, given that I need to pick up new industry knowledge, process vast amounts of new information, lead new teams and establish new business relationships within a short period of time.

Thanks to my MBA, I have been equipped with sufficient knowledge and exposure to different businesses to meet these challenges. With two years of training, I can quickly grasp my clients’ business situation and concerns with a good practical understanding of financial, management and business strategy concepts.

Last but not least, the MBA network has been invaluable to me personally and career-wise. My classmates come from a wide spectrum of industries and sectors, so whenever I have engagements with an industry I am not familiar with, help is usually just a quick phone call away.”
